Christmas 2008...

So today is Christmas eve and Dave and I celebrated Christmas today because he has duty tomorrow. We started our day off by going to my 28 week doctors appointment. After the appointment I had to have my routine glucose screening which took an hour before I could get my blood drawn. I have gained a total of 13 pounds since I got pregnant (YAY). So after sitting and waiting we made our way home and started breakfast. I was a grumpy butt until I ate due to my sugar being low and fasting in the morning. We had sausage biscuits, coffee and orange juice. Then YAY present time!!! As we ate our food we opened gifts from one another. Dave was excited to get a Japanese fishing pole, socks, bike helmet, candy, shoes ( for Jacob ), a movie and more candy. I got and new purse (YAY), perfume (Clinique Happy and Chanel's Chance), Clinique lip stick and lip gloss, my favorite face washing stuff from Clinique and CANDY. Oh yeah and we also got a TV and a new vaccum on black Friday. This is the scoop on Dave shopping for me: We have a friend that works at the Clinique counter at the store on base. So he tells me later that he walked in there and went straight to her and said, "Help me cause I have not clue what to get my wife!" haha I thought it was really funny when he told me about it cause I could not figure out how in the world he knew what to get me in there. Thanks Connie :)

We spent the next part of the morning eating candy and then feel asleep. It is 3pm and now that we are up from our nap we are going to do some things here around the house and Dave is going to get ready for tomorrows work day.

This Christmas has to go down as the saddest Christmas ever due to us not having family around. We missed everyone so much and wished that you all could have been here to make our holidays brighter.

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone and have a Happy New Year! Miss you all. Here are a few photos in front of our tree that were taken by yours truly.

Boy, time is flying huh? Before we know it Jacob will be here with us. Life sure will be a lot busier. This week at my routine appointment I will be having to take my glucose test. I hope everything goes well with that cause I sure am having a hard time staying away from sweets! Wish me luck. hahaha. Here are a few photos of this weeks belly.

27 week 3D ultrasound...

December 16 was our 3/4D ultrasound. Dave and I had our friend Kayoko make the appointment for us at the Motomatchi Ladies Clinic in Yokohama. She was so great and went with us so that we were able you talk and understand what the ultrasound tech was saying. Everyone was so nice there and you would think that you were in a day spa with the fake birds chirping in the hallways and the relaxing music in the office.
Jacob was a very shy baby today and was hiding from the camera. I was told that we should have gone for the ultrasound earlier. With Jacob growing and taking up space in the belly makes it harder to see his face good. Here are a few photos.

Fall in Japan...

Dave and I got a chance to take a trip to the Tokyo National Museum. It was a great day to see the trees and there great color. We should have taken more pictures of the trees and less of us so that everyone could see them but......
The photo of Dave is taken behind the museum and has a tea house in the back behind the pond. This a very pretty place to see after looking at the japanese history inside. Here are the pictures....

24 weeks...

This is a photo of me at 24 weeks and Dave and I put up our first Christmas tree as a married couple. YAY what a fun night! I am getting big but Doc says I have only gained 8 pounds since my first visit. I am sure it will cartch up with me soon enough. Baby Jacob will be here before you know it, only 16 more weeks to go.

22 weeks...

This past Sunday started my 22nd week of pregnancy. Yay! Moving right along. I feel so great these days. Baby Jacob is doing so well and some days I have to say, I don't even feel pregnant unless he kicks me. His favorite time to play in the tummy is between 11pm-2am. Here is a photo of me and some friends at dinner. Amy and Tya love baby Jacob already! These girls play the husband role and keep me straight while Dave is gone.

20 week photo...

This is me at 20 weeks. I can't wait until Dave gets home to feel Jacob moving in there! He is going to be in shock when he feels how strong his soccer kick is already.

It's a Boy!

I had my 20 week ultrasound today and everything looked great. As you can see from the title we are having a little boy, now known as Jacob Scott Medici. Dave and I are so excited and can not wait to see the little one. Dave seems to think that he is starting a soccer team now. I got a call from him as soon as I got home from my appointment. He will now have someone to camp, fish and hike with in the future, that means I am off the hook! Our little one will be a pro at putting the toilet seat down and opening the door for the ladies. Here are a few photos from todays visit.

Surface Warfare Supply Corps Officer pin

Dave just received his Surface Warfare Supply Corps Officer qualification. This qualification is based on his general knowledge of the ship, naval warfare, the supply/logistics chain and the integration of all. While the qualification doesn’t make him an expert in any one area besides supply, he has shown a broad understanding of the combat systems, weapons, engineering and navigation of USS STETHEM and other ships in the Navy. This is the first step in his career (no matter how long or short) in the Supply Corps. Congrats and I am so proud of you!

Family and Friends day cruise....

This past Saturday Dave's ship had a family and friends day cruise. Aboard the USS Stethem, we had the most perfect day for a cruise out in Tokyo bay. Since there is not family here to invite out I decided to invite my Japanese friend Kayoko to come along. She was so excited to come with us. Her dad was a Captain in the Japanese navy and is now retired. We had a great time letting Dave show us around the ship that he calls home. We started off with breakfast at 7am. I was the only one that ate. I had pancakes, ham and a hash brown. I was starving by the time I got to the ship. Kayoko was afraid to eat case she was scared that she would get sick from the motion of the seas. Then lunch was a cookout on the flight deck of the ship. This was pretty yummy! Burgers, hot dogs, ribs, mac and cheese, beans, chips, and pasta salad. Oh and Cookies, LOTS of cookies! We cruised past Yokohama and Tokyo and then turned around and went back past the base and out of the bay. There we were able to get up to full speed. Man, that ship can boogie! We had an overcast day all day and even got chilly later in the evening on our way back in to port. Dave was pretty happy to get off the ship due to him just getting back from a three week deployment the day before. Overall we had such a great time and got to experience what Dave's day must be like for weeks at a time. Here are some pictures of our cruise, little kids dressing up as fire fighters and air traffic controllers, playing with guns, the city of Yokohama from a distance and the newest member the USS George Washington the first nuclear air craft carrier here in Yokosuka. The people here are not too happy with it being here.
