Cherry Blossoms in Tokyo at Ueno park

Dave and I went to Ueno park in Tokyo to see the Cherry Blossom trees and to visit the zoo. Notice all the people sitting under the trees.....locals believe it's good luck to drink (Sake) under cherry blossoms!

This was on the train on the way in to Tokyo. We had front row seats! heehee

Our first Quilts...

Christina and I took advantage of our husbands being away on there ships. We completed the top portions of our quilts. We both agree that this was easier than we expected. We are ready to learn how to put the whole thing together now. Can't wait! I made two and she made one.

New talents...

I have recently purchased a sewing machine in hopes that I can make quilts as beautiful as my sister does. Even though I can not sew worth a lick, I am going to try to make it my new hobby. We'll see! I am lucky to have a friend here that is willing to try it with me. Wish us luck...we will need it!

Shopping...

My friend Christina and I came along this really cool little shop with old furniture and everything else you could imagine. Needless to say I purchased a few things here! We had such a great time there we even got our pictures taken there.

Mikasa Park...

Dave and I got to take a trip off base together in his free time. So, we went ot Mikasa Park which is located just to the left of base on the water. We had a great time just relaxing in a quiet place. It is amazing that you can walk down a busy street here and it is so calm. No loud trucks, horns blowing or people talking loud. Everybody here is so respectful of each other and does not want to bother people.

This building below, in the corner, is our water front Mc Donalds on base from Mikasa Park.
